Hi guys.
New season starts in a week or so, so we are reminding everyone about the upcoming (and previously announced) changes for new season.
Training
- Team training is getting removed
- All training sessions now cost -1 fitness
Gym
- Gym now offers 0.25 base points increase instead of 0.1 previously
- Gym skill buys are updated to match training logic at 75+ skills (efficiency reduces as higher the skill is)
- New additional options are introduced in gym:
+4% Fitness for $500 cost, 3 days cool-down
+0.875 skill base points for $5250 cost, 7 days cool-down
+10% Morale for $2500 cost, 7 days cool-down
- You can only use one option of the same type, at the same time. Meaning that if you pick Skill 7 days, you need to wait 7 days to use the 2 day option.
Active Bots
A new concept of "Active bot" player is introduced next season. First a definition: an active bot player is a bot player that can train, get mental points, age all seasons, etc. A player becomes an active bot player in two circumstances:
1. When a bot player is hired by a human club, through the squad management page
2. When a human user loses one of his players for some reason (inactivity OR not paying for a paid slot). In this particular case, the bot player remains active for 30 days: if not taken over by another human player or hired by a human manager, it is automatically reset after this period (30 days).
This means that human managers can now hire bot players and train them in their clubs. Bot players have a 5% training efficiency disadvantage comparing to human players.
Users can (kinda) pick on any bot player they want, even if they are active bot players in human clubs. However, we have put in place two protections for human managers:
1. Managers can decide default contract length for newly taken over bot players (1 to 5 years)
2. There will a paid option (one-time fee, per user account) that will allow you to actually prevent your bot players from being taken over from your club
Managers can also sell their bot players to other clubs. This is a normal transfer, through the transfer market where the highest bidder takes the player. Active bot players can also be bought from bot clubs: if you want to buy an active player in a bot club, you’ll need to make an offer and buy the player through the transfer market.
Notes:
- Bot players can be called to National Teams and City Teams
- Foreign bot players can be hired and they will need to get adaptability.
- Bot players cannot get Double Nationalities but they can inherit them from players that are removed from users.
- You can interact with teammate bot players.
- Bot players wage are set automatically, according to skills and age.
- Bot players contracts are automatically renewed at the end of each season.
- Once an user leaves a player, the player is no longer reset immediately. If these players are in human clubs, they are kept in the club, with unaffected skills and with no "expiration" deadline (as the 30 days reset mentioned previously only applies if the new bot player is free or in a bot club)
This is a new, hopefully interesting, reform to Footstar. It will also try to fix an old problem of the game which is to force (new) users to train 1 to 2 years to have a developed player. With bot players training in human clubs, these are containers that can be immediately used by (new) users, with some kind of control by human teams. We’re excited to see it working in the future!
Clean Sheet
Clean sheet prize max limit is raised to 50% of the wage of the player.
Future Developments
These have been massive background changes. We expect to be fixing some bugs and/or adjusting game-design mechanics in the upcoming weeks. After this is complete we intend to move immediately to the ITC transition to the new competition format. It is something we intend to have ready for the start of season 56 (next season). ITC competitions will be designed by FIF.
Our plans for automatic training for human players are probably delayed for a season, but we’ll update our plans once we complete the ITC transition.
